Enfants d'Asia recently developed a program to support medical and teaching students. As a result, about twenty of these, from provinces throughout Laos, can now focus exclusively on their medical studies as they have been alleviated from the added burden working in the evenings or over weekends and holidays. Without this assistance, many students without financial means would be forced to drop out after one or two years, exhausted by the double activity.

Recognizing that progress is needed in building local educational capacity, Enfants d'Asie has developed programs at the Ecole Normale de Luang Prabang (Normal School at Luang Prabang) which enable teacher and college professor training. As a result, 23 students have graduated and returned to teach in their native region.
